Introduction to motor neurone disease for front-line staff


The MND Aware e-learning training program is for health and community care providers working with people living with motor neurone disease (which is also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or Lou Gehrig''s disease). The training provides a basic understanding of motor neurone disease (MND) and the impact of MND on an individual’s life.

  • 9 Introductory sessions (Sessions 1-9) of interest to all people working with people living with MND
  • 10 Symptom management sessions (Sessions 10-19) provide a more detailed look at how MND symptoms are managed by the care team
  • 7 Wellbeing and support need sessions (Sessions 20-26) provide a more detailed look at the wellbeing and support needs of the person living with MND and their carer, family and friends

You have 60 days to complete the course.

The course consists of 4.5 hours of online multimedia lectures grouped into sessions. Each session includes a short quiz. The quiz pass rate is described in the quiz detail.

You will need to pass all quizzes to be awarded your Completion Certificate.
